Mysterious clear tube between I6 intake ducts
I've been wanting an 8th generation F-150 for a few years now. In January, I finally bought one - 1990 F-150 Lariat Regular Cab, 5 speed, 300 CID I6, Cabernet Red. I'm not sure when or why I developed an appreciation for this particular generation, but I did; thankfully they're a dime a dozen on craigslist.
I suspect trying to maintain this old truck will keep me busy for as long as I allow it to, but during an early inspection of my engine bay, I noticed a few things which seemed out of place. One thing in particular is a clear tube which runs between the parallel air intake tubes. Clearly not an original component, it must have been added by a former owner (or his mechanic) for some reason. Any guess as to the function/purpose? I don't think it's causing an immediate problem, I'm just curious.
