Default Chugging at 34 and 46 MPH

A 90 5.8 - a reliable beast but after she is warm it has chugging moments at around 35 and 45 mph - right around shift points (rebuilt tranny 2 yrs ago). The chugging goes away if I take my foot off the gas. Suggestions?

It sounds like Torque Converter slip, but with it being rebuilt that soon, it's iffy. Does it do it if you take it out of Overdrive?

For what its worth, my tranny doesn't like cheap fluid. I tried cheap stuff twice. It shifted erratically. After switching over to Valvoline Maxlife ATF, it shifts as smooth as butter.

Awesome! Glad to hear it. I need to do a fluid change in the tranny myself, and if that stuff helps out that much, I think I might consider it.

My theory on the E4OD is that it needs a good robust ATF. So, something like a High Mileage or Synthetic ATF or even a good conventional name brand ATF is what it seems to like.
