Default bushing replacement gone bad: shifter wont move...

i have an 89 f150 with the m5od/ m5r2 manual tranny. I ordered a bushing kit for the shifter and after installing it, the im stuck in reverse. The stick wont move an inch. I've tried removing the kit, but it seems there is something i may have done wrong during the teardown process. Any suggestions?

You're going to have to try your best to remove it again and the put it in neutral and put the bushings back in. I have the same truck but 4x4 and I put the bushing kit in also. It works great once you have it all together properly. Good luck!

Mine is also a 4x4 (i forgot to mention that). The problem is that i can drop the lever in, but it wont budge to shift in any direction...

You'll have to aim the stick at reverse when you put it in.
