Default 95 Trans issue in over drive.

Looked around online for awhile and haven't really found anything like my issue, going through town at 30-35 it won't stay in OD. It bounces back and forth between drive and OD. But if you do it on highway running 55 it stays in od fine. It goes 1- drive fine, but jerks some going into od. Anyone have any ideas?

Does it go back and forth with no input from you? I ask this because in the 30-40 range is kind of a sweet spot where it'll drop into overdrive when you let off the gas but then drop down when you give it gas again. Whenever I'm driving in town and it's more stop and go than normal I turn OD off.

Doing it all by itself. I read about the torque converter test. Tapping breaks in od. It revs up like it was suppose to. I'm not sure if I should start just turning od off in town or take it too a tranny shop.

If I hold it a solid 35 without letting off the gas it switches gears by itself

30-35 isn't overdrive if I'm not mistaken. I'd say 45 and up is OD. And you say it stays in OD at 55. I don't see a problem.
