Default 95 Lightning rear end trouble

Hey i have a 95 lightning with the lightning specific rear end but because of, i am assuming a casting flaw, i have a hole in the cast iron of the diff housing... I came across a guy on craigslist selling a rear end from a 2000 lightning, i know they have different lug patterns so i would have to get new axle shafts, but will it fit. what i cant figure out is, will the length be right, will the spring perches be right, can i get the speed sensor to work, will the brakes fit in the stock 17" tires.

if not easy what rear end can i find that will be a direct swap, that i can just have rebuilt, i need it done asap its my daily driver

You can weld those housings, they're more or less cast steel, so you could just mig up the hole.
