Default 92 F150 flareside mass air swap

Am currently working on my 92 f150 it had the 5.0 non roller and speed density with E4OD trans. I pulled the 5.0 and going with 5.8 roller with some upgrades on it. Picked up an engine harness and ecu the donor was a 95 f250 5.8 mass air roller motor and E4OD. I guess my question will be will the 95 f250 harness work with my truck. What would work and what wont work now i can't delete anything cause i have to play nice and be California friendly. Any feed back or advice will be appreciated and thanks

The more wiring, emissions, and other engine-system-related parts you KEEP with the engine, the better it will run (longer, with less maintenance, higher MPG, and lower cost-per-mile). Even though many of the plugs are the same shape & will physically fit together, there were many wiring changes between those trucks, so I'd avoid plugging ANY '95 wiring into any '92 wiring, until you've checked each wire in each connector to be sure they're the same circuits. Try to get the whole '95 sitting beside the '92 so you can be sure you have all the parts you need to keep the engine system intact. When in doubt, use the '95 parts, including: Y-pipe, ignition module, dash harness, instrument cluster, engine bay harness, transmission harness...

I also recommend swapping to the '95 A/C system (R134a), but that will have no impact on the engine. You CAN just lay the '92 compressor to the side (withOUT opening the refrigerant system), and bolt it onto the '95 engine. But the later system works better if you keep it intact (don't open it, either).

Steve83 thanks for the feed back. I cant get the trucks side by side but i can check if they still have the inside of the cab harness and the cluster, i know they have sold the steering column just hopefully they didn't cut any of the wires the part thats gonna suck it that i currently have a 93 lightning cluster on my truck and it wont work with the 95. Also I've been searching some wiring diagrams for both truck to see the pins. Once again thanks

Yes, the '93 or '92 clusters CAN be made to work with the '95 engine/EEC/harness - it's just a little more work. And repairing a cut harness isn't as bad as you might think, if you have a decent crimp tool, or know how to solder.

That's why I hate the CrapaTalk app. Click the text (phone app link) below the pic. But it's better to use a real browser (like Chrome) on a fullsize monitor.

Yeah that was better i just talk to the guy that i got the harness from he was talking about 100 for the cab harness and hopefully they didn't cut the wires when they sold the steering column. Right now am just gonna drop in the motor and tranny in and secure them and then start with the wiring. And check how to use the cluster thats in my truck cause am pretty sure that i wont find a 95 lightning cluster for sale.

You just have to re-pin the dash connectors to match the older cluster: delete the airbag indicator wire, and rearrange a couple of others.
