Default 89 4X4 Speedometer and Odometer Inputs

I recently purchased my 89' F150 4X4 with a non-working speedometer and odometer. From research, I understand that the odometer is mechanically driven from the transfer case and that the speedometer is driven by the ABS sensor (VSS?) on the rear differential. I have confirmed that the drive cable from the transfer case is broken and I need a new one (rockauto.com lists a number of different ones...). I have also confirmed an issue with the rear sensor, since the wiring coming from the sensor on the differential has been cut and is missing going forward. I was wondering if someone could describe the routing for the wiring because I cannot find anything going forward on the frame from the rear axle area. In other words, I have the sensor and about 18" of wiring on the axle, but cannot find what wiring it is supposed to connect to. I looked around on the frame and don't see anything obvious. I appreciate any direction or clarification that can be provided in advance.

The speedometer and the odometer are both driven by the cable coming from your transfer case. I'm not sure what you are seeing coming off your differential.

The speedometer and odometer on the 1992 and newer Ford trucks is driven off the differential.

Thank you. The break in the line is pretty close to where the "section A" is listed. I'll have to look closer at the wiring along the frame near that area and see if I can find where it got separated.

Thank you for the clarification on what drives the cluster.
