Default 78 steering shaft

I got a lot of play in my steering of my 78 f150. I brought it down to get looks at and the guy at the shop pointed out that the u-joint in the steering shaft had a lot of play in it. How do I replace that. Do I need a whole new steering shaft?? How long would it take to replace and how costly are the parts.

They do sell just the universal http://www.borgeson.com/xcart/catalo...0-p-1-c-2.html but it does require some fab work.

Right now how much if a pain is it to replace the lower shaft with the rag joint? I've decided against replacing just the ujoint, even tho it is cheaper it seems like more of a pain.
