type suspension long or short
might be a dumb question, but how do i know what type suspension on 1987 f150 reg cab 4x4..long or short. recently installed 2.5" lift. thanks

That's like asking if it's a long-type truck or a short-type truck.

just asking if i wait to tighten all suspension parts, leaf spring bushings,radius arm bushings,pivot bushings ect. before putting engine and body back on. Or wait load is on truck.Someone responded that short arm suspension tends to twist more or something like that.Truck is a 1987 reg cab f150 short bed flareside 117" wheelbase. thanks.Sorry for getting back so late.

If it still has original-type vulcanized rubber suspension bushings: wait until it's loaded to curb weight before torquing the leaf spring bushings, and the axle pivots.
If it has poly bushings, you can tighten the bolts any time.
If it has poly bushings, you can tighten the bolts any time.
