Thank you Did you put a little anti squeal grease on the pads themselves? How old are the calipers? |
I creased the pins and top and bottom hook are on each pad I did not grease the back of the pads or use anti squeal grease Calipers do not have many miles on them .
Thank you for reply I will give it another shot |
How old is your truck?
I had a new caliper dragging because of a collapsed brake line, the line looked great on the outside. Did you bleed the system real good? I posted this in another thread, great for one person to bleed brakes, does an excellent job. https://www.f150forum.com/f15/your-g...9/#post7217762 |
1994 I replaced the brake lines as well and bleed the lines took it for a drive stopped by a shop was told that the bleeding has nothing to do with rubbing and squeeling
and that I could have a caliber riding on the rotor. |

Anti squeal grease, believe it or not works, most pads come with a squeeze pack of it. Caliber riding on the rotor? Then you did something wrong. Is it doing that on both sides in the front? |
Ok thanks very much I will redo every thing and probably be a better man for it

The substance which is applied to the back of the pads is not a grease but a coating which should be allowed to dry before reinstallation to prevent metal to metal contact with the caliper piston. Hopefully, you replaced the brake hardware when the work was done. You should have a slight drag if the calipers are free.If you replace, change out both calipers, not just one.

Your caliper pistons are not used to going back this deep, did you clean around the pistons?
|
Yes replaced clips .
Thank you |
