brake line diagram
Hey Y'all,
Ive got a slight hole in my brake line where it was routed very close to the exhaust. I assume the p.o. did not follow the original path. Could anyone link me to a diagram for a 1995 f150 4.9l 4x4? Also, I am confident that it will be pretty self evident what needs to happen but unsure of the process. Sounds like I will need a Flaring tool, bend by hand, possibly a coupler. SAE tubing? Then need a bleeder screw for bleeding. Did I miss anything important?
Thanks
Mark

Go to the junkyard and find the best looking hard line you can find. Give them $5-10, clean it up and mount it. Done.
Other then servicing and bleeding.

gawd, I wish we had a junkyard!
nope just sixteen miles of sand and a whole lotta water. Anyway, I tried to bend the brake line out of the way a bit and it just opened up the hole. Now I have no brake fluid left and guess what? P.O broke off bleeder valve. Yea!

Anyway, I wonder if the guys faulty brake line is the one up in the frame rail or along the axle housing.

Its the front right brake line, it is routed from a junction at the front left wheel along the axel up past the exhaust and to the wheel. It may have just rubbed a hole against the exhaust, because, mostly I drive off-road. Anyway I am hopefull that I can remove the Caliper bleeder screw, and its also a good time to install the parking brake, which I was going to do anyway.

I just replaced this brake line over a month ago and just to be 100% safe I replaced both flex lines while I was at it. Don't splice that line just replace the whole thing, I think I got a section of 6ft line and just bent it into shape and fit perfectly without cutting and flaring. Should be about the same length for a 4x4.
