Brake Leak Help.
Hello,
The other day I noticed brake fluid on the ground and leaking at the drivers side wheel area. It looks like it's coming out of the fitting where the metal line & hose connect. It just started doing this, what would cause it to do that? Can you buy just the fitting? |
Fitting is part of the hose. Needto replace the hose.
|
Oh ok, the rubber hose correct? After replacing, do I need to bleed just the wheel or both front ones?
|
Both. But make sure it's the rubber hose (flex line) that's leaking. usually it's the steel lines that go - one line comes in from the master, the other goes out to the driver's wheel.
And don't drive your truck. You're about to lose your brakes completely. |
K, the leak is right where the metal line and rubber flex hose connect behind the wheel.
|
Most likely to be the steel line. A little rusty ? They all get like that after 20 years. Good idea to take a real good look at the other ones too. If you can change them yourself, they're quite cheap.
