Smog Pump Delete
Hey guys, my smog pump is on the way out, so I was curious what the consequences would be if I just bypassed it? With exception of the check engine light being on because none of the emissions stuff is working, does anything as far as the engine or catalytic converter working properly change?

Deleting the smog pump won't cause the CEL to come on. I deleted all the smog items when I replaced my motor with no issues. I left the electric solenoids hooks up and plugged the vacuum lines.

I am looking to delete all smog on my 1990 5.8L. Did you remove all smog equipment? Specifically the plumbing from the smog pump that routes toward the rear of the truck?

I am in the process of doing the same thing. Other than the vacuum line to the FPR, did you leave any connected?

The only items left from the emissions in the EGR Valve and the vacume solenoids that are next to the ignition coil. You have to leave the EGR Valve hooked up so that the check engine light will not come on. This is what I did so that it didnt let unfilterd air into the intake manifold

Thanks! I was having a stall issue when coming to a stop. It ended up being a vacuum leak. The only vacuum lines that are left for me is the one to the fuel regulator. I also left my solenoids in place and hooked up electrically.
Nice touch with the little filter @ the EGR valve.
