Default Help with rebuilt

Hey guys.
So I recently had my transmission rebuilt on my 1990 f150 lariat 5.0. I am not 100% familiar with the shop but I did get a good vibe and response from the owner. Seemed like a good family owned place and he knew what he was doing. It was a aod. It has been about 2 weeks but it is also not my daily driver. It shifts great but only after some time warming up. Is this normal after a rebuild? He told me it was common and to give it a few weeks then bring it back if the problem persists. Is there some necessary adjusting time after a rebuild? What could cause this? I want to have some info if I need to go back and get it worked on again.
Thanks in advance. Dave

I never heard that before. I had my E4OD rebuilt when I did my engine swap and it shifted fine from the very beginning. I would make sure that it's full once it's warmed up. If it is, take it back to the shop. Toughest question to ask anyone is "do you know a good transmission shop"? Never understood why that is.
