I'm wondering if anyone can decipher my engine block. My truck is an 88 F150, but the engine was swapped by the previous owner. I suspect it's a 5.0 V8, but wanted to check the engine block stamp and see if I could figure it out. Took the starter off to see the block stamp, and I think I've found it, but I don't recognize this format of block stamp. I'm guessing the 92 means the block was stamped in 1992, and the 6015 is the standard engine block part stamp, but beyond that, I'm not sure. Can anyone make sense of this? Thanks in advance!
since the second digit behind the upside down A.. which is probably a V for flint...
that second digit is a 0
TBC 1970 350 255 4 convfwd cabs, a/t
TBC 1970 350 255 4 m/t, 3 spd
TBC 1979 350 165 4 conv. cab, m/t,fed
its probably a 1970 build 255 horsepower 4 barrel engine.
on the back drivers side of the block is a casting number..
on the left rear side of the block.. both are above the bell housing..
there will be a julian date.. ()B140() would be Feb 14 1970 or 1980.. what does yours say..
the smaller font numbers in the middle are stamped on the car assembly line.. those are the last digits of the Vin number the car or truck was originally installed in..
i am in my lap top.. all my serious PDF Files are in my disconnected desktop.. you can tell what model the car or truck was..
