Default 351 Windsor water leak

So a while back my truck would randomly start steaming for no reason when i was driving it. A day or two ago we finally popped the hood and found the steaming once again and we knew there had to be a leak so what was the leak? well it wasnt antifreeze, it wasnt oil, its a water leak! well when i was putting water into my cooling system i could hear water running straight onto the ground! well after a few minutes of looking around i saw it coming out of here

The red thing is what i circled. as you can see its in between the distributor and throttle body. but the leak is just a 3/4 hose that connects to something under the temp sending unit. at first i saw a hole in my hose and removed it and replaced the hose to hopefully fix the problem... nope it still leaked. after more looking i saw a decent sized crack in what ever that little nipple is that the hose connects to.

In this picture its with the hose removed, that little connector nipple thing is what is cracked, thus causing my water leak and also causing the steaming when the water hits my exhaust pipes or something else hot.

Same pic, just zoomed out a little to get a better view. i had to unscrew my intake hoses to get to all this btw.

inside the red line is where that 3/4 hose usually is. as you can see it connects to that over peice on the left but there is a metal pipe behind it.

SO my question is:
1. what is the little peice that is cracked called?
2. How can i replace it?, because the way it looks the entire top end would have to comeoff.
3. could i just cut the nipple past the crack and put my hose back on?

Nobody got back to you ? I suppose you got it fixed by now. Probably would have seen it out in the general section I guess. In case you still need to know, if I'm seeing it right, that hose pumps hot water through the throttle body to keep it from icing up in real cold weather. There should be another hose as well (return line).
You shouldn't have to tear the motor down to change the cracked nipple.
Just do what you have to to stop the leak. If you don't live in a real cold climate, you can just cap both lines off.
Let me know if you haven't sorted it out and I'll see if I can find you a picture that'll help
