Default Comments on a 5.9l cummins swap?!

Thinking of trying to put a 5.9l cummins in my 93 f150. It's a single cab short bed and the thought of her black smoking like a champ is just a beautiful image. Any thoughts? Any one done it?

I own a 5.9 in a 94 motorhome.. really like it.. when I rebuilt the 4.9 in my 95 F-150 I did consider just installing a 5.9 12 valve like the one in my RV.. but the diesel is so much heavier and stronger that the idea, and expense, of the project soon convinced me to just rebuild the 4.9 in "Baby" and be happy ... and I did and I'm happy.
That's my thoughts.

You don't think a 12 valve 5.9l would be better?

Depends on what your plans are. The 4BT is the 4 cyl version of the "12 valve" you want to put in. I have experience in this area:

Is there really any big advantages of the 12 over the 4bt? And I make the 4bt roll coal?

all i know is i was told 95-98 are the best ones to get. im putting a 12v in my 250 this coming summer. and like others have said, its not just throwing the engine in and going, especially in a 150. you need motor mounts, adapter plate for your transmission, stand alone computer for your trans if its a auto, ect ect.

save money lol, if you buy a parts truck you should be able to do the swap for $2,000 or less.
