Default Can you guess the problem from this sound?

Hello,

I'm having a conversation with a long distance seller and need your advice. I am interested in buying this truck ('85 351 engine) but need to determine what this noise is. A pump etc or engine problem.
I realize video is not very good but any help will be appreciated.
Thx

If I had to guess I'd guess either the timing chain or the truck is low on oil. But that's just my best guess and could be totally wrong.

Sounds like it's in the accessories on the front of the engine. To me it doesn't sound internal; but listening to a video is not the same as listening to the truck.
Sounds like money needing to be spent....

My "guess" would be alternator bearing. Doesn't sound serious to me.
