Building a 351W with EFI

Currently I have a 95' F150 4x4 with a 5.0 and M5OD, and with the 5.0 getting up there in miles, I'd like to replace it entirely, and seeing as though a 351w is a straight swap, I figure it's the best choice. I recognize sticking a 351w in front of an M5OD, may not be the wisest idea- but seeing as though this is intended to be a cheap build, I'm not trying to swap in a Zf.

What I'm looking for is advice on how to mildly build a stock 351w for less than 2k while keeping the stock EFI making around 300-350hp.

What would be the best route for me considering the situation?

I've heard of doing a clevor build or getting gt40 heads and a cam. Or would I be better off getting some aftermarket heads? And in terms of bore/stroker kits?
