Default Another gt40p header thread

Hi there, I have a 92 f250. I'm swapping out the old 351w for another one with less mileage, I found a set of gt40ps for 100$Can and would like to give those a try. I have been reading old threads however the majority of them point towards the discontinued Ford racing ones. Many threads have also pointed towards a summit link, link is old and didn't work for me. There's only 4 shorty headers on the summit site for sbf but not enough in there descriptions so I left an email asking. Most of the threads iv been reading are more than 10 years old so I was hoping somethings changed in that time. I'm also reading the BBK ones have spark plug clearance issues. I haven't sent them an email yet but I'm open to ball pein hammers. I'm in the process of scrolling manufacturer websites and sending emails but would appreciate anyone's input. If someone knows of any newer p style headers meant for the truck or if someone can add to the list of headers that need clearancing. Thx

Ya mixed reviews some saying they needed clearance and others saying no. I didn't find a part number on the threads I saw so I sent them an email. Hoping to find shortys and just plan for 90' plug wires

Iv sent out a handful of emails. To manufacturers, BBK didn't give me a part number but noted they do not make a p specific header and that there will be clearance issues. Mac is out of business I found as well. Summit returned my email but mentioned they do not have anything they believe would work. Still waiting for a few emails to come back. Again i don't mind torching and hammering as overall it's still gonna be a huge improvement. Thanks for the link graygoose.

I wanted to give an update on the bbks I bought, bought in the spring and didn't open the box till mid summer and found there was an incomplete weld on the collector. Il try uploading pics again tonight but they wouldn't upload multiple times this morning. Looking from the inside of the collector you can see light shining through the hole in the incomplete weld. I emailed BBK at the time with pictures and they did not respond. Last week I finally test fit and beat them out, almost every tube needed a little dent to fit the plug socket but # 7 is ****ed. Again il try to upload the pics tonight. There's maybe 30% left of #7, the tube is flattened and the collector concave, I still can't even fit a finger between the wire and the header. The spot with the incomplete weld is what needed clearancing. Before beating them when I test fit without gaskets and the plug installed, the short header plug is touching the collecter close to the weld. I'm gonna continue with them for now, I have the 90* boots and socks but I think I will look into longtubes in the future. Not finding any promising info about the longtubes either though. In bbks defense, I contacted them before buying and asked what they thought and their response was that they would not garuntee a fit to p heads.

outside and inside view of #7. Maybe I could have gone more but I felt like this was plenty far to crush it, its mostly crushed right where the pipe enters the collector. Again I couldn't fit a finger between the plug wire and the header with it test fitted (no gasket). Gonna run them for now but will probably look into long tube headers next year.
