Default 94 xlt 4X4 5.0 tune or programmer

Is it possible to tune it with a factory ecu? Or do I need a programmer(piggyback or stand alone)? I will be doing other work to the truck also. But would like to know about the tuning. ANY advice for more power, without going internal or boost, would be appreciated (i.e. throttle body, intake plenum or manifold, injectors, ram air intake, etc.) Part number or at least part brand of any specific's would be a great help too. Thanks in advance.

To be completely honest, it's not really worth it on a 94 5.0. You would be far better off putting your money into other performance mods.

lol You are funny. I SELL tuners and have prob just about more experience with them then anybody on the forum by far....so to say I'm a tuner hater is rather amusing as they are my bread and butter. Was just trying to give you some advise based on real world experience.

All I am saying is that most OBI system like a 94, generally is extremely minimal gains when tuned unless you have a completely built engine which you are dialing in. If you are doing a full on engine build with boost though, then you are going to be better off going to a local dyno shop.

You would be looking potentially at something like an old SCT flip chip 6600 for a 94 5.0 but again, the gains would be very minimal but hey, it's your money, do with it as you like. :-)
