Been kicking around doing this swap for a couple years now. Currently have a 94 F150 with a strong running 302 roller motor in it. Want more power to turn the 35's. Finally pulled the trigger and picked up a 351W roller motor from a 95 Bronco. After a month at the machine shop the long block is ready to go. Bored .030 over, Keith Black Pistons, Comp Cams roller cam w/.512 lift, GT40 III bar heads, reconditioned rods with ARP studs. The machine shop even offered to port the stock upper and lower intake to get better flow. I will post some more pics as it goes together.

Intake is ceramic coated. Should hold up much better than paint Just dropped it on for the pic.




Couldnt help dropping the intake and the Ford Racing valve covers on it to get an idea of what it will look like. Other new parts include, spectre oil pan (comes powder coated black), new timing cover, water pump, balancer.

Thanks, the MSD distributor and coil came in from Summit Racing today. They ship so fast its ridiculous. I bought it on Wednesday night and it was on my front porch by 10am this morning.

Got the lower intake and valve covers bolted on for good this weekend. Decided to pull the radiator core support so that I can pull the motor through the front instead of lifting it up and over. Replaced the core support busing last year and noticed so rust on the passengers side so good time to replace it, plus I can leave the hood on so that I don't have to re-align the hood.


Any thoughts on doing it this way?

 

I just replaced the 351 in my 86. With a hoist it's way easier to just pull the hood. Just drill some small holes through the hinge into the hood makes lining it up way easier.

 

Either way works but pulling the hood allows more light and alot easier to work closer to the firewall without having to duck under the hood.

 

I ended up pulling the core support because it needed to be replaced anyway. Super easy to pull the motor. was able to stand on the ground in the engine bay so I never had to lean over the fenders to disconnect anything. Took a ton of pics so I know where everything goes.

 

Here's mine. Got a few things to tidy up yet and want to do the coil upgrade.

 

Well it's went to being worse than before. It's running so rich now it's puffing black smoke.
