Ok, I did that, but I also went ahead and tested the TPS and it was good. Then I went ahead and removed the throttle body, the gasket material was all but gone, I used some form a gasket, put it all back together, put the neg cable back on and started it up, check engine light out, truck idleing better than ever. Thank you!!!!

The phantom is back. Truck runs strong. CEL is out. I tried to check for codes with my Innova OBD I & II tester, still has codes from before, pushed erase DTC button, it asks to confirm you want to do this, pushed button again to confirm to erase, and showed on screen it erased, I rechecked for codes to confirm but the same codes were there. So I tried the KOER test, started at first normally, test to IAC, then nothing, even this expensive tester did not know the EEC IV system stopped responding. I have tried my Innova 3145 Ford OBD I reader and a jumper wire to do a KOER test and nothing. I unplugged the Neg cable for 3 min, then 5 min, then 1 hour, then over night (approx 8 hours) and the codes remain. Best I can tell the computer is in Limp mode. How do I test the computer for this? Is there a wiring diagram with the pinouts? maybe a loose ground?

If you can't get the codes to erase you may have a bad computer.
