What Spark plug wires
Anyone have a suggestion on what plug wires would be best for a 91 4.9 I-6. Prices range from like 18 buck to over 100 a Orileys et all? Not looking to cheep but then again I don't need spend money just to spend money either. So what is the difference between $20 wires and $100 wires?

If you post links to the ones you're comparing, we might be able to find some justification for the cost differences.
I generally prefer US-made parts, but they're getting hard-to-find at any price. I've been running some 8mm silicone wires I got decades ago when they were on sale (maybe clearance). Obviously, if you can find a MotorCraft set, they'd be among the best available. But not necessarily so much better that you could tell a difference between them & a less-expensive brand from the driver's seat, or with a meter.

+1 on the motorcraft set. Autozone carries them for $40 with a lifetime warranty

Red sparkplug wires.

Years ago I bought a set that I thought would fit and it didn't have the ends crimped on both ends. I somehow managed to figure out how to cut them and crimp them with the little hammer and anvil tool, and they worked out pretty good.
Over the last 5 years or so I have started a policy of painting RED any part I have replaced on my vehicles. I have a red alternator, a red water pump, red tie rod ends, etc. so many years later I can remember if that was the water pump that I replaced before. Likewise in keeping with the theme, I bought red spark plug wires. Also I didn't like the way the Ford wires's boots stick out the side of the engine. So I bought red wires for a Chevrolet, cut them to the perfect length, crimped ends on and I think they look real good.
Some wires you can buy have a copper core or some metal and other wires have something like carbon on the inside. I prefer metal, but the carbon ones may have advantages that I don't understand. The last ones I bought, I thought they were copper but after I cut them, I found out different. I used them anyway, so I guess I feel the color is more important to me than what they are actually made of.

I have found that as I got older I have more opinions about anything.
