Default Tuning a odb1

I've got a 1990 300 done some work to it, removed the smog pump, egr, opened up the exhaust , Kn cold air, msd 6al, 19 lb accel injectors, and a jet performance chip. Is there any way of tuning the obd1 to where it dont blow smoke like a diesel when I get on it, any ideas would be helpful, thanks

Just curious... did you ever find an answer to your question?

the main restriction to power is the head...portwork and headflow is the bottleneck. until then the 19 lb injectors will make it run very rich, especially since you havent installed an adjustable regulator. to tune the obd 1 system you must look into the megasquirt or moates quarterhorse tuning hard/software.
the smog pump has no effect on power... the egr is is helpful to keep around. helps cool combustion temps and reduce octane requirements. did you notice that the 6 gained no power from the "cold air " kn? the truck already has a decent true cold air intake that the truck already cant make full use of in stock form.

there is a good gain to be had where the exhaust steps down from 3" to 2 1/4"..keeping it 3" the rest of the way helps. check out fordsix.com

Ford never used the OBD-1 protocol - that was GM. These trucks use EEC-IV computers, which have no EEPROM chip (they can't be reprogrammed, flashed, or modified without desoldering & substantial electronic re-engineering). If your aftermarket chip doesn't work right, either put the truck back to stock, or complain to Jet.
