Default Timing question 96 il 6

Does moving the serpentine belt affect the timing on the engine? I am not sure if it affects it at all. It is a single belt so I am assuming that it has something to do with timing. Just to satisfy my curiosity.

Serpentine belt that runs your accessories? (Alternator, water pump, et al) I'm thinking the 300 is either gear driven or covered timing set. Could be wrong.

the 4.9 has gear driven timing, no belt.
the belt you see has nothing to do with timing..

almost any engine wouldnt have the accessory drive have anything to do with cam/crank timing. that would be very unreliable, considering the accessory drive can slip a bit.
