Replacing my 1979 carb engine,( will refer to as 300) with EFI engine, (will refer to as 4.9), and experiencing motor mount issues.
Did I assume wrong that blocks would have same mounting locations for motor mounts? Sure seems like they must be different. Drivers side, 300 motor mount and frame horn, 4.9 engine Passenger side 300 motor mount and frame horn, 4.9 engine
After a few beers and some study, gonna look at the 4.9efi type mounts, and most likely make up some frame mounts to accommodate the newer type mounts. just treat it like a typical swap, and avoid crawling around the pull-a-part lot fighting old rusty frame mounts.
