oil pan gasket

Default oil pan gasket

my oil pan gasket is leaking and i obvious need to replace it. hoping i could get some advice on easy removal?

If yours is a 4.9liter you can romove the egr valve unloosen the top half
Fan shroud. Then take the motor mounts and then the trans mount loose.
Then take the dust cover off the tranny and tben remove the starter. Then
you can jack the front of the motor up. Then remove the oil pan.

I haven done a v-8 in the truck. Good luck with that!

Really hoping I dont have to do this anytime soon. Sounds like a real PITA for a gasket. Couldn't they make it easier? lol

On the 4.9 the pan can be dropped onto the crossmember to get a few inches clearance. There's enough to fish a new gasket into place under the oil pump but not much more work than that. It worked on my '94 4.9.
