Default Issue with 1996 4.9L F150

Hello guys. I just bought this truck a few days and it runs really good and looks even better. It's been awhile since I've owned a Ford but I really like this truck. Ok on to my issue. Sometimes, maybe every 10-12 times, when you crank the truck on the front tank it will spit and sputter and try to go dead. If you switch it to the rear tank it will clear up and run good and then you can switch back to the front tank and it runs fine. It runs good on both tanks and switches fine. It has never done this on the rear tank and like I said it only does it on the front tank sometimes. When it does it if you don't switch to the rear tank it will spit and sputter and eventually go dead. I know nothing about these motors so any advice is welcome. Thanks, Al

Nice truck, I have one too. It sounds to me your fuel pump maybe on it's way out. Try checking for codes. I haven't had any fuel related problems so I don't really know. You might want to post this problem in the other section (1987 -1996) where most people cruise the site.
