Default Fuel system

Hi, I have a 1990 F150, 4.9L, 5 sd.
It died with my son driving it.
Won't start.
Turns over fine, 56 psi static fuel pressure.
Has ignition.
Fuel pump pre-start pressurizes fine.
It will run, But only sounds like it's hitting on 1 cylinder. Checked cap & rotor. Seem ok.
I'm wondering if the sock in the tank may be stopped up???
I noticed a loss of power at WOT last time I drove it.
Replaced fuel filter since it died.
What's the proper pressure & volume the pump should deliver, And the proper procedure & specs for testing the pump volume?
Love the truck. It's a horse.

Choppy sentences.
Too vague.
Need more.

"Won't start" is extremely ambiguous - describe exactly what happens, and what DOESN'T happen. Use as many words as you need - they're free.

The only test for the fuel pump is pressure - measuring volume is too complicated & dangerous for even a pro in a shop to do.

If you suspect an ignition system fault, follow the diagnostic procedure in Haynes Ch.5 (usually Sec.5 or 7, depending which edition you get). Read this caption before buying one:

After you buy one, READ IT (at least once cover-to-cover, so you know what's in it & where to look). Or make your son read it, if he's going to be driving it.

This diagram shows the differences in the fuel systems, and the caption links to another album that describes your truck's system in more detail:

The next several captions in THAT album have some of the other info you asked about.

It sounds like it was quoted out of a textbook.
