So i have a 94 f150 4.9l single cab 2-wheel drive. It ran fine but i wasnt getting heat so i replaced thermostat last night went to start it up and it suddenly ran horrible. I dont know what i did im positive i installed it right with the long end towards the block. tried burping the engine earlier it didnt help. my father was a mechanic for a long time and had several trucks with the same engine and swear its the dry rotted hoses i replaced tonight that did nothing and it ran fine without before. i didnt remove any hoses just the housing replaced gasket and thermostat and bolted it back. theres no leaking. he also says that i could of gotten something wet and thats why but i see nothing electrical below the housing just the belts. the engine will stay started but it shakes and rocks and vibrates the whole truck. am i missing something here?

Sounds like you disconnected the map sensor by accident. It's on the firewall behind the fuel rail.
