So when my truck has been sitting for a long period of time like over night or after I get off work and I crank it up there is a knocking sound in the engine that last about 3 to 4 seconds then goes away. Any idea what this might be?

It's probably lifter noise until the oil gets up to the lifters. If you can get one, put a mech. stethoscope on the engine to locate the noise. Try some Lucas oil stabilizer in it. That will help keep more oil on the top end for the dry starts.

Thanks, after I posted the topic I did some research on the forums and that sounds like the problem 90% of the time. Gonna do an oil change this weekend and get a K&N oil filter.
