Default EGR delete?

I am considering removing the EGR on my ‘89 with the 300 i6. At the moment, the county I live in doesn’t have any emissions, but all of the surrounding counties do. So I’m expecting us to get it pretty soon. I’m just wondering if having no EGR would cause me to fail emissions.

Regardless of local laws, federal laws prohibit deleting or disabling any emissions systems. So yes - that would be a fail when (not IF) your county starts checking.

And there's no benefit to deleting any emissions system, anyway. They all HELP the engine run better. Read this:
