Don't "convert" anything, and don't open the refrigerant system. Swap ALL the underhood HVAC parts, as this pic shows & its caption explains:

Couple different ways to do it. The easiest by far is what Steve posted just costs more $$ if you have to buy it, seeings how you have a donor truck, should only cost you some time.
I've done the 12 > 134 conversions many many times and it's not complicated at all but you will have to purchase refrigerant oil, refrigerant, an o-ring/charge port conversion kit. Some come with the oil. You have to replace the liquid line (orifice line) and accumulator, then flush out the condenser and evaporator cores and all lines.
Then you can evac and recharge the system. If you wish to DIY I strongly urge you to do the complete system swap posted above because it sounds like you won't have the equipment and know how to do the other way.
