Question 89 4.9 Stalls/Sluggish After Shift Into 2nd

I've had this truck for years now and finally get around to driving it full time and I've run into alot of problems. When I bought this truck it ran fine and I would drive it on the wweekends. The truck now idles fine and runs in first gear but when I shift it into 2nd it will run a little longer the sputter and bog down, but if I push in on the clutch it will go back to idling fine. I replace the fuel pump, cleaned the tank, replaced inline pump, pip sensor is good and timing has been checked. Anyone have any ideas of what to to next?

Sounds like it can't handle the load. I would check fuel pressure and make sure your ignition system is in good shape, plugs, wires etc. You didn't mention fuel filter but I would do that first if you didn't recently replace it. Finally, make sure the converter is not blocked. You can verify with a vacuum gauge.
