82 4.9l intake and headers

So is it worth it to go with the 4bbl intake and headers with dual exhaust using magneflow glass packs or will the gains be negligible?

I have a friend that is running header, intake, 4bbl, and cam. He has experienced a great power increase, but with much tuning and much expense.
