Default 1990 6 cylinder won't start when hot.

Hello, My name is Joe and I live in southeast PA area. I recently bought my first truck - a '90 2wd 6 cyl 5speed f150 with only 146k on it - it runs well, however, there are some new found issues. When I bought it I asked are there any problems and was told the turn signals don't work right - I said ok I can fix that and drove it - it ran well and I bought it for 4k. Having lived with it for awhile now I have discovered other things that I was not told about. I have a 40 gallon gas tank at home for the generator and tractor and lawn stuff so when I get home I fill up the front tank and fill the rear tank about half and all of a sudden I have a flood of gas in my driveway. It's coming out of the front fill thru the cap, a lot! I didn't know how to stop it all I could do was grab a bunch of towels to soak it up. Probably more than a gallon. I later find out the check valve doesn't work, that was replaced. I later find out the rear tank has a hole in it and when I park facing up the driveway it leaks, I had the rear tank disconnected. I later find out the front fuel pump wasn't working properly - I then had that replaced. Now I find out it won't start after it gets to normal operating temp. For example, when I went to get gas, it left me sit until it cooled off. I experimented in the driveway by letting it idle up to normal temp, shut it off, waited 15 minutes and it won't start until it gets cold. It starts fine first thing, and if you shut it off and turn it on right away it starts, but if you wait 10 or 15 minutes it won't start. I looked at several f150 tech sites and they said to replace all sorts of different things, which did not work. I replaced the coolant temp sensor, the thermostat, the ignition solenoid, the distributor, the ignition module, the starter, all sorts of electronic things I can't even remember them all. I have proper pressure at the fuel rail and spark and timing is correct. It's bad enough the seller was not truthful, but I now have another 2k into it. Nobody will buy it so now I'm stuck with it. I don't know what to do next. Any ideas?

Confused why the starter was changed - when you say it won't start - does the starter not engage, or the engine rolls over without lighting off?

Default 1990 6 cyl wont start when hot

Hello, because I have no one to discuss this with I got all the information about this topic from this forums tech pages, except the starter. That was worn out and I replaced it. All other ideas I got from here. None have proved effective. It starts and runs fine anytime I go to start it when cold. If I stop to get gas or run into a store for more than 10/15 minutes it won't start, it just cranks over like it's not getting gas. When it cools down it starts right back up. The pressure at the injectors is normal, the timing is correct, distributor and module replaced, along with a bunch of other sensors (all suggested from here), which I kind of new was not going to work but because I am not well versed in such matters I thought lets just see what happens anyway. I was able to get a gas sample from the front tank and it did have dirt in it (I don't use the rear tank cause it has a hole in it). But I don't see how that would make it not start when hot. Never the less I got a new tank and fuel pump and am going to see how that affects it. I'm going to disconnect the diverter and check valve so there is no way to access the rear tank electronically or mechanically and use only the front tank.
