Crock Pot

Is there a check valve between the fuel filter and the fuel rail. I get a pressure drop while cranking, making me think there is an obstruction. Filter is new. Disconnected supply at filter and tried blowing air through it back toward the filter on the frame rail, but it went around the return line instead.
