Default 1985 f150 dies when on drive

as title says, my F-150 truck dies when putting it on Drive or reverse. However it idles smoothly. It recently replaced the carburetor and installed a Carter C-6077 YF
The truck was owned by my grandfather but was given to me before he passed away, so I don't really know much about the engine. All I currently know is that it is a 6 cylinder 350 engine and that the truck is a Ford F-150 XLT Lariat 2WD.
Engine hasn't run since 2008 until this year.

P.s. I'm not sure where to post this as I just registered

If its pre-97 you're in the right section. How's your transmission fluid look? The level at least.

All oil Levels are Ok, However recently the carburetor was newly installed but was never adjusted to match the engine.
