I am having a problem researching and trying to find the right color and location to tap into for wiring running lights for the side steps on my truck. I have a 2017 F-150 Sport 4x4. Any help would be greatly appreciated! As you can see from the picture, there are 3 different wires I need to tap into: puddle/courtesy, parking/running light, and turn signal. Unless your intent is to flash the running board lights when you signal to turn, you don’t need any of that. Grab the +12V wire for the cargo light. You’ll get automatic activation whenever you open a door, hit the unlock button, or turn on the cargo lights.

get in the bed .. remove the 3rd Brake light.. tap into the one that lights up when the doors unlock
Which wire did you use for the running board lights when you open the doors?
Just installed F150m LEDS running board leds on a 2016. The instruction to use grey/violet stripe. That did not work. It also says you can use the solid violet wire for + but that does not work either.
