Default Wiring 3rd Brake Light from Camper Shell

Im trying to wire a third brake light on a LEER camper shell I bought off of Craigslist to my 2011 F150 FX4. Just a brake light, no dome. What is the simplest way? Can it be done with a 4 prong harness?

I am in your same situation I just bought a ARE camper shell. I do see a green connector near the driver side rear tire next to spare tire and thinking this my be the connection needed to tie in the third brake light. I will keep searching to clarify this connection and hopefully will find the parts needed to make the third brake light operable.

I went about this the hard way, as I didnt' want to risk frying any of the electronics or pulling too much power.

I installed 2 relays behind my 3rd brake light and connected them to my chase rack's lights.

Basically I got power from the front of the truck and used the relays to turn my chase rack lights on/off as the factory 3rd brake light/cargo lights came on. Worked well. Hardest part was fishing the line above the liner as i didnt' want to pull it down. Not to hard though.

If you are still looking check this website out www.siraweb.com they have the wire connections for the third brake light. I will be ordering one (SKUC90-801) today, will let you know later how it works.

There are 3 wires under the hood for connecting a topper (at least there was on my '14). I posted on here a few times about it. There is a brake wire, dome wire and a ground that all work for a topper.

Here is the thread:
