Default What have I done.....

So i just swapped out the Heads/Fog bulbs for LEDs. Heads are Opt7... I get everything all put in and buttoned up and i take her around for a drive to check out the difference annnnnnnnnnnnnddddddd my AC wont cut on. Blows nice and warm.. Engine check was on for the first crank but disappeared soon after... will be retracing my steps tomorrow after work but any ideas to what it could be would be greatly appreciated.

Ahhh i see... well thanks.

Thats comforting/dissapointing. I did notice they were extremely bright when i had my lady drive the truck around for me. Tried to adjust them down but still super bright. Like hi-beam bright. Like pulled over and issued a ticket bright..

So is that a problem with most LED headlight bulbs or just a crappy manufacturer?

No, just the wrong application. The reflectors have to match the bulbs, swapping to a different kind of bulb, like HIDs won't have the same spacing/configuration and created hot spots. That's why some cars are way too bright. apart from a ticket I thinking blinding drivers coming the other way is a bad idea.

Well I'm not sure what some of the other comments made. But the opt7 are not a downgrade from halogens, it's an upgrade. Opt7 has a few style kits and it's not really "crap" but it's not exactly the highest quality you can get in an LED kit. We did a shootout with their bulbs compared to ours, they held held their own to be honest for the price point. So I wouldn't worry about that. What you have for LED's is fine. YES you can put better ones in, but you should not worry. That OPT7 kit puts out more light then the halogen. Not sure why someone wrote it only puts out 1/3 of the light a halogen does... so yeah confused on that one. We sell a kit that outperforms it but you don't need to spend more money to replace what you have. It's an upgrade over halogen what you are running. CANBUS Adapters are about $20 a pair on any site btw, not $100 so again, not sure where that $100 price point someone else mentioned came in but it's misleading.

LED kits don't cause AC problems, lol. My guess is you knocked something loose when working on your truck. Maybe you blew a fuse or something on the compressor

It could also be something else... I'd have someone check your AC lines. When was the last time you had your AC serviced?

Well the A/C sorted itself out overnight so Vanquish was right on that, so my guess is I can skip on the CANBUS if everythings working electronically, but... the claim that the Opt7 puts out 1/3 of the light is definitely incorrect. Not sure where that comes from but they are 10x brighter than stock halogens. Almost to a fault. They make the factory highbeams look silly.

The lights are 6k (which im fine with), 30 watts/3500 lumens each. Will going down in wattage/lumens help out with the brightness (if its possible to go any lower)?

WOW they are 10x brighter? No one is going to appreciate that as you come towards them!

When will people realize brighter is not better or safer!

In reality the OPT7 would only be about 2x-3x brighter G9 & XHP series are 4.11x brighter then stock halogens, and compared to OPT7 are brighter.

Again, don't worry about what someone else said about them, you'll be fine. It's not the highest quality bulb BUT it'll do the job for you for now.

Thanks for the info 4x4.. This site needs more people like you and less people like that "SENIOR MEMBER" up there. Really appreciate the input. For what its worth i managed to adjust them down to a sweet spot that really helped out with the brightness.

I'll be in the hunt for a pair of LED tails pretty soon and I'll make sure to stop at your site before i do.

Vanquish is not a good vendor, and I am allowed to say that. They speak so many mis-truths it isnt even funny. I can say with certainty and honesty, 4x4truckleds helps people no matter what or where they buy their leds. I have bought led kits, canbus adapters, Morimoto fogs etc for 4x4truckleds, and he helps me no matter what, even though he knows I buy and advocate other brands as well. The problem with Vanquish is no matter what, everything is garbage, and I mean EVERYTHING is garbage, unless you buy their kit. They are on this forum to push what they sell and talk crap on everything else. Not all vendors are as friendly and helpful as 4x4truckleds.
