Upgrading non-HID headlights

See, now I'm all kinds of confused. According to MGD, the stock bulb is a General Electric product and the stock wattage is 65w/55w and here's a pic of the bulbs I replaced, that were stock:
Maybe Sylvania is a GE product?
And here's a pic of the wattage from the Piaa Xtreme White Plus.
I think I see more on the road because it does 'burn' brighter than the stock bulbs. Personally for me: while yes, they may not have the same bulb life as the stock ones, I live day by day in preparation for the future, but you never know if you'll even see the life output of the stock bulbs. 😉 So, I take a hit on the lifespan of the bulbs, but I love every day that I can see a wider and more lit up section of the road in the evenings.

Factory may use GE, Sylvania, etc. All are spec'd like the first bulb I listed.
The ad is a scam - there is no way you can 'create' energy. The halogen cycle requires a certain amount of energy to produce 'X' amount of light.
This is a well-known marketing trick.
good luck

When I went to retrofits, however, the ~300+% increase in intensity was anything but marginal
No judgement here - run what you are comfortable with - no worries, mate.

Oh, I have, several times. My light meter confirms it. The colour temperature is the differentiator. The ~10% increase in intensity was marginal.

Sometimes when we invest in something, we WANT it to work so bad, that regardless whether it does or not, we convince ourselves that it does. Hopefully thats not the case here, because quite honestly in a side by side comparison the difference is almost nill to my eyes. Especially not in proportion to what they cost.

Well I am a Philips fanboy, not to proud to say it. I have used their Philips Crystal Vision Ultras in my Superduty, Excursion, Focus and now I am ordering them for my F150. H13 for the heads and H10 for the fogs. I drove 1 1/2 hours a night for over 2 years with them in my Focus and never had one burn out. I have ran Silverstars before and can not bad mouth them as far a longevity goes, they were fine. I just like the color of the Philips crystal visions better. It is merely a personal preference.
