Well, I'm impressed. Just installed mine today, the only bugaboo was mounting the ballasts. I'm going to wind up using some 3M double sided tape, and adhering them to the side of the headlight bucket. The harness came up about 6" too short for me.
The light output is pretty good, will take a little getting used to. I also seem to have a bluish/purple line at the cutoff. Is this normal?

Also have a related thread with photos here;https://www.f150forum.com/f38/ballas...unting-350655/

Yes, the bluish/purplish tint is for sure normal. It depends on what projector/bulbs you have but most will have some color. It is called color flicker. There are mods out there that alter that color flicker to different colors as well.

Edit:.....I just re-read your post and saw the smiley face at the end....I missed the sarcasm. That's my fault. Celebrating the 4th too hard it seems...haha

These were my D2S projectors with Morimoto 5500k bulbs...they definitely had some flicker to them although the pic doesn't show the intensity.

Yep yep, same setup I've got. It surprised me how far the highbeams light up. Should help with spotting Bambi and friends at 0400. Got to thinking about some retrofits for the Ranger now, that's my DD, so I think it could be money well spent.

Are you still running that setup, or did you find something better?

Oh ya, sarcasm is me!!!!

Well that was on my 2014 Ram 1500....loved the lights and the truck but needed more space inside the cab so I got my Platinum. But I am finishing up a retro with the Mini 7.0's and I'm almost done. I really liked the D2S's and if I hadnt already bought the Mini 7.0's, I would have done a retro with them again. The Rams headlight buckets were smaller so I was going to do the Mini's but then I got rid of the truck before I did the 2nd retrofit on it.

That was a good looking truck! You certainly paid attention to details as well.
I'm thinking a problem I may end up with on the Ranger is the small headlight buckets. Need to do a bit more research.

I'm actually in the process of getting my ranger retro started. I plan on getting some more details together on that today.

Anyone still working on a set? I think I'm going to try and finish mine up finally this week.
