The main testing was mostly for comparison between the two different model headlights. Both sets of headlights were for halogen equipped vehicles and were meant to run halogen bulbs.
The first version headlights do offer a HID version with different projectors, but I cannot comment on its output.
While the newest version does not seem to be offered in a HID version. At least not yet anyway.

Yea I seeing that. I wonder what the output would be if I were to through in a HID kit from TRS. On another thread they talk about how the internals aren't changed but no one really went in to see. Couldn't find any pics of hids in the halogen version ether. I have PnP in my 2010 right now and im just tired of look. That's me on IG talking to you right now as well haha

I have seen some pics of HIDs in the halogen version 1 headlights. You will see an improvement, but those projectors are real crap.
I think the version 2 projectors would benefit from a nice HID kit.

on the other thread some guys we're talking about how the halogen ones need a different wiring setup to work with the hids? I'm assuming the u-lamp just wires in with blinkers or is it two different plugs?

A Morimoto H13 wire harness would be all you need. As well as the H7 HID kit. Becomes plug and play at that point.

Well I have the 9008/H13 relay harness all ready as well as the 50W ballast. So all I would need would be the H7 bulbs that fit the housing or not sure why you said H11 lol

Sorry. Yes, H7. Are you looking to do the version 1 or 2?

Looking at the version 2 as from your shots looks better in build quality.

So looking on the spyder website, I can't even see these version 2 headlights available.
