SL1 Headlight bulbs vs others?
I currently have DD SL1s which I love..however the color temperature is too warm to match the OEM Led Fog Lights I bought. Im curious about trying other LED bulbs for my 2017 that have a cooler color temperature. First off, the OEM leds (headlights and fogs)...seem to have a cooler color temperature than the SL1s.
So im curious about Headlight Revolutions offerings and how they stack up against the DD SL1s? Im mainly looking at the Supernova V4 bulbs which use different chips and are cooler color temperature. Anybody tried them in the low beams and high beams? Im looking for something higher output in the high beams. The SL1 is good there but is not as awesome of an improvement like the low beam.
Theres also the Perfect Fit bulbs which I think the SL1s are higher output. And the GTR Ultra Series Gen3 but I dont think they fit. Both of these have similar chips to the SL1 and only the Supernova V4 has different ones.
A downside of the SL1s are the lines and shadows in the beam due to 3 seperate LEDs . But it does have an excellent beam pattern. So im really curious about HRs Supernova V4 because its a single LED. And if there videos are honest the beam pattern was super uniform with no shadows or lines.
Anybody have any experience with their bulbs in the 15-17 F150s?
Thanks-

Instead of changing the headlight bulbs, why not go to DD led bulbs in the fog lamps? KM

Beam pattern of the OEM LED fogs is soo much better than tossing LED bulbs in the fogs. At least the headlights have "covers" over the bulbs in the low beams so you dont get glare. I know beam pattern is good but I found that there was still glare throwing bulbs in the fogs.

...granted, there's more that goes into 'best' than a single photo test pattern and lux measurement, and what is there is surely informative

Just came to post this, shootout with 9 different lights and none are OEM LED? Kinda makes me think OEM LED must be the best and aftermarket doesn't want to be shown up...

But no... OEM LED are far from superior and if you've ever driven the Fords with OEM LED and then driven a similar Ford with aftermarket lights, you'll realize just how horrible the OEM LEDs are

Techmax and Sealight Leds
I went with Techmax for highs and lows based on recommendations from bulbfacts.com. I stumbled on Sealight for fogs. Techmax are 6500K and Sealight are 6000K so a pretty good match. Cutoff seems good. I've had no one flash me so I'm satisfied for now.

Aren't the 9005 and 9140 the same bulb size just different wattage? If so why not use a high beam bulb in a fog lamp?
That matches the temp for all bulbs. I get the OP's reason not to use LED's (may not agree, but that's just opinion).
I have no fogs but did a lot of reaserch before going to LED bulbs, thought I noticed the use of 9005's sold for foglamps. KM
