Why pay the $40 or $50 for those bulbs when for $75 to $100 you can get an HID conversion kit? It will give you a lot more light than any halogen could dream of

pass inspection? what do you mean by that? how would an HID light conversion cause you to not pass inspection?

I will have to agree with him on that one. I will eventually switch over too.

because not everyone wants to blind oncoming traffic. I have seen HID conversions without the HID housing and it should be illegal IMO, It might even be illegal, just not really enforced. The glare is rediculous and dangerous for oncoming traffic.

So I take it they finally came out with the Ultras for our trucks. When I was in the market the Ultras weren't available for our trucks yet so I settled for the regular Silver Stars. I had the Ultras in my ranger and the light was noticeable whiter and brighter than the standard Silverstars.

Ultra are better than the regular SilverStar. As for passing inspection - I don't know about other states but here in Texas - they are really starting to be a pain in the *** on inspections. Some inspectors won't pass the vehicle if it has ANY aftermarket parts on them. Others are just engine mods. and some don't care about anything. The latter is hard to find.

The ones that blind you are the guys who dont aim their headlights properly.... if you aim it properly, while there is a lot of scattered light, its not as blinding... HID are much brighter, last longer and use less power... to me its a win win... give it a couple years and all vehicles will be equipped standard

I agree that they are better...but even when aimed properly the glare from the scattered light still can be, and is, distracting to oncoming traffic. I notice how u say "not as blinding" if aimed properly.....its still worse in some cases than driving at someone with standard high beams on. I think if u want HID lighting u should do it right and get HID housing so it distributes the light the way it should be. Just My opinion and preference as I hate being blinded by people who couldn't care less. I have actually turned on my KC offroad lights at people with HID conversions that were outrageously blinding...I can play that game too
