Yes i'm waiting for the Black Friday to do it .. i'm going to use the Anzo's as my base then add these.. i might need to black out some of the Anzo C-Bar to make them the same width .. i know BGG and Go_on3 added 2018 headlights to their 2016 and all they changed was the grille so i'm going back the assumption the outer piece is the same dimensions

thats good to know. I’m waiting on Black Friday myself. Keep me posted on your build. I bought another set of halogens should be starting my build after Black Friday. Have you bought the Anzo’s? I’ve heard they’re back ordered?

Gotcha. I would think they’re going to still offer Black Friday deals on these being it’s a huge shopping day and they want to sell these things

Yesterday I started the project. And let me tell you, taking these things apart is a PiTA. After about an hour of basically zero progress, I had pretty much gave up and told myself I’m buying Anzos. Went outside smoked a cigarette and had a beer. After calming down, I decided to give it one more try. And after another hour and a half I had the first one apart. What satisfaction it was when it finally broke loose. Took about an hour and a half one the second one also.

for anyone thinking of tackling this, you have to work fast and be forceful. Many times I thought something was going to break, but it didn’t happen. I say work fast because the permaseal is only going to release when it’s hot, like fresh out hot. So, I heated it in intervals. I started at 240 degrees for 20 minutes. Worked about 10 minutes. Then I did 260 for 10. I found that 280 worked the best. I only left it in the oven for 7 minutes at 280. Just work it a little bit at a time and eventually you’ll get there. Also, get a set of heavy duty lock ring pliers. If not for them, I don’t think I would’ve gotten anywhere. I used a hook and punch driver set for run along the seams after first heat to try and release some of the permaseal, reheated and just started working the screwdriver to get inside. Once inside, the pliers were my savior. I was able to slowly separate the lens a section at a time.

Glad to hear you got them open! I never went over 240 with the heat so I’m guessing that was a big part of my struggle. Might have to take another crack at opening mine using your tips.

Also, did you end up getting a set of those 15-17 DRL/halo outlines to use? I imagine they’ll work just fine, just would like to make sure as I’d like to add those too if I go this route.

I’m waiting to purchase everything Black Friday. I’m on the fence about what I want to do still. Every company I talk to tells me that the 15-17 is different and it won’t work. But, I’m seeing people here sayin it will. My second thought is buying 4 6” strips and putting them on the horizontal lines in the center where the blinker is. I think it will look good and be different.

Trying something different with the halos this go around.

the inner ring will be the switchback for my turnsignal. It will blink amber when the signal is triggered. The outer ring will be a solid amber running light and won’t switchback. I had the rings and was trying to figure out a way to use em. How’s you’re progress going bigxlt?
