Default Ranch Hand Sport Rear Bumper Licence plate Lights

Lights that came with the bumper only have 1 wire. Old harness has two. Cut off the connector on harness on one side and attempted to wire the old harness to the new one wire bulb. It didn't work, any suggestions? Really would like to avoid getting a ticket for not having those lights wired up.

Sounds like the new bumper lights are grounded through the bumper. Are you sure you used the positive wire from the trucks harness?

Yes, tried both to be sure. Is it possible the light isn't getting grounded through the powder coat on the bumper? If so how do I solve short of scraping the bumper. Seems like a flawed design if that's the case.

I would pull the bulb and test it by itself first. Led or halogen? Might also try flipping the bulb if it is led could have been installed reverse polarity.

SOLUTION: Turns out that it was an issue with the powder coat preventing the light from grounding. Sanded the inside of the light holes down with some medium grade sand paper and lights now work!

Hey, on the Ranch Hand rear bumper, how do you change the license plate bulbs? Does the whole fixture pop out the front, or do you remove the bulb from behind the bumper??? (I obviously didn’t install the bumper)

Thanks in advance!
