With my '18 XL RCSB I am going to be purchasing black housing headlights soon. But, reading all of the different things on headlights, bulbs, led, vs halogen vs hid, how to install, etc.. is borderline migraine worthy

My goals are rather simple:
1. Black headlight housing
2. Better headlight output than the current halogen bulbs that come stock with XL models
3. Halogen is fine as long as the light output is better.

Can I even do LED without some magic done?
As for the install - I will need to pay a competent shop to do. it, as I will, undoubtedly, mess up something along the way -- got to know ones limitations, I suppose. I tend to stay away from wiring/electrical.

There is some great info on here about led bulbs in a projector type setup, but how to I fix the halogen/led conversion (I do have FORScan that I used on tire size ok).

I really like the looks of these, they look to be projector which is also fine. are the bulbs they come with fine? Or is LED a must .. or is just a better (is there one) long lasting halogen bulb possible?

These housings come with halogens already installed in them. Upgrading to LED is as easy as removing the old bulbs and installing new ones. As for HID, I have never used them, but will require extra wiring. The headlight housings are not that hard to install if you watch a video or follow the write up. You will have to remove the grill to do the install, which is not that hard, it just takes some time.

Any information on the 2015 model? I'm looking to install a pair of these on my '16 and was wondering if there was a difference in quality and how the installation varied...

There should be a word doc attached to the post you can print or save...
Great write up. I'm working on gathering parts for my swap (I'm doing grill at the same time so need to get that painted). I got Lasfit bulbs for my fogs, looks like you did too. Are they supposed to be in 6/12 position or 3/9?

I'm not sure, they only seemed to go in one way and work fine for me. They have very good light output.

my sequentionsal aren’t working when I use my signals but work when I unlock the truck. What could be the issue I haven’t been able to figure it out

Default Sequential wiring

From the pictures we have the same harness that has the plug on the one side that plugs into the headlight and the other side to the OEM harness. What am I missing on the other side? Any help would be appreciated!
